And now, for a fun little diversion today.
The Army-Navy football game is coming up this Saturday, and that seems to have spawned something of a competitive spirit in a couple of our gubernatorial candidates this year.
Republican Matt Jacobson – a graduate of the United States Naval Academy who has been talking up Navy all week – officially challenged Democrat Steven Rowe – a graduate of West Point – to a friendly contest over the outcome of the game.
The terms?
If Navy wins, Steve Rowe has to take a photo with Matt Jacobson with both wearing a Navy jersey. If Army wins, Matt Jacobson has to take a photo with Steve Rowe with both wearing Army jerseys.
Jacobson proposed it, and Rowe has accepted. We look forward to posting the resulting picture embarrassment for the loser. Given recent history in this game, Jacobson should feel pretty confident.

Us real veterans of the United States Navy get to root for the goats…Jacobson ran out on us and served his tour with the Chair Force. He should be a fan of the zoomies – he cashed in his right to say he was a member of the American Navy when he made that move. What a phoney.

Lucky, if Jacobson knows the words to Navy Blue and Gold, it doesn’t matter what uniform he wore after graduation. Beat Army.
