Initial Election Results Show Strength For No on 1, 4

Early returns are in.  Currently the Bangor Daily News is reporting that with roughly 5% of the vote currently counted, the referendum questions are currently breaking down as follows:

QUESTION 1 – REJECT SAME-SEX MARRIAGE LAW

  • No 14988 - 54.48%
  • Yes 12524 - 45.52%

QUESTION 2 – DECREASE AUTOMOBILE EXCISE TAX

  • No 19959 - 73.61%
  • Yes 7157 -  26.39%

QUESTION 3 – REPEAL SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION LAWS

  • No 15848 - 60.36%
  • Yes 10409 - 39.64%

QUESTION 4 – VOTER APPROVAL OF TAX INCREASES

  • No 16657 -  61.95%
  • Yes 10231 - -38.05%

QUESTION 5 – MAINE MEDICAL MARIJUANA ACT

  • Yes 17816 – 65.38%
  • No 9434 – 34.62%

QUESTION 6 – HIGHWAY BOND ISSUE

  • Yes 18025 -  67.64%
  • No 8625 - 32.36%
